Cashback cap

The maximum cashback a card may pay for a period or category.

Definition

A cashback cap limits how much cashback a card can earn. The cap may apply monthly, yearly, by category, or by campaign.

Why it matters

A high cashback rate can look strong but become less useful once the cap is reached. This is why Tilla shows caps next to reward rates where the data is verified.

Example

A card may offer 5% cashback on groceries but cap grocery cashback at AED 100 per month. Spend above the cap may earn less or nothing extra.

Important caveat

Caps can change and may depend on bank terms, merchant category, and minimum spend rules.
