Minimum spend
A spend threshold that must be met before a rate, fee waiver, or bonus applies.
Definition
Minimum spend is a required amount of eligible spend. It may apply monthly, during a campaign window, or in the first few months after card approval.
Why it matters
Missing a minimum spend can reduce rewards, remove a fee waiver, or make a welcome bonus unavailable.
Example
A welcome bonus may require AED 10,000 of qualifying spend within 60 days.
Important caveat
Only qualifying spend usually counts. Exclusions can apply.
